Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion Air have announced their operation of domestic flights starting May 1.

Bangkok – The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) recently had a meeting with representatives from 20 airlines to discuss anti-disease transmission guidelines and rules as Thailand-based airlines look to resume domestic flights on 1 May.

Some of the guidelines and rules discussed include adopting physical distancing onboard aircraft – selling tickets for 70% of the capacity – and throughout the process, from check-in, embarking and disembarking the aircraft. No food and drinks will be served, and passengers are not allowed to bring food and drinks on board. Passengers are required to wear marks at all times while crew must wear masks, gloves and face shields. Flights longer than 90 minutes must set aside seats in the last two rows to isolate sick people.
