AYUTTHAYA, 29 July 2012 – Mr. Witthaya Pewpong, governor of Ayutthaya, revealed that as a consequence of the recent visit by His Majesty the King and the royal family to Thung Makham Yong, coupled with the province’s revival after the flooding disaster, as well as its flood preparation measures, the overall image of the province has improved.
At present, a large number of both Thai and foreign tourists are coming to the province, raising the number of visitors to Ayutthaya by 30%.
The governor said the province had received government allocations to finance important projects, including anti-flooding measures.
Mr. Witthaya further made known that the province has been continuously working with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ayutthaya office, in drawing up each year a calendar containing monthly tourism events.
