BANGKOK, 13 September 2011 – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has launched the Food & Hotel Thailand 2011, which will run until 16 September, with an aim to help promote Thailand as an economic leader of Asia.
While presiding over the opening ceremony of the 19th Food & Hotel Thailand, Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Sombat Kuruphan stated that the event was a great opportunity for international businesses related to hotels, food and services to exhibit their products. It is also expected to facilitate Thailand’s emergence as the center of product displays in the ASEAN region and as an economic leader of Asia amid volatility in the global economy.
This year, there are a total of 16,000 exhibitors from 59 countries participating in the event. The top five countries with the most participants are Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines and Vietnam respectively while more new faces have come from many countries, including China, Italy, Japan and South Africa.
The Food & Hotel Thailand 2011 is taking place from today until 16 September at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon Shopping Center.
