A long-neglected puddle of water from a leaking pipe under Pattaya Beach has become a foot-washing pond for tourists.
Boat operators say the small lake at Soi 6 has been there for months and neither city hall nor the Pattaya Waterworks Authority has bothered to fix the pipe fueling it. The water is clear and odorless, so the speculation is that its tap water.
Tourists, especially those getting off boats from Koh Larn, have taken full advantage of the city’s neglect, using the water to wash off their sandy feet after traipsing across the beach.
