Passport service available during special holidays

BANGKOK, 27 October 2011  – The Department of Consular Affairs is providing passport service as usual despite the government’s announcement of special holidays on 27, 28 and 31 October.

Mr Thanee Thongpakdee, Director-General of the Department of Information and spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the passport issuance service which is usually provided at the Department of Consular Affairs located on Chaeng Watthana Road, its branch at Central Plaza Bangna and Passport offices in every province is still available to Thai citizens from 8 am to 4.30 pm, the normal office hours, even though the government has declared 27 – 31 October 2011 as special public holidays in Bangkok and flood-affected provinces.
