Satun Governor allocates 10 million baht to develop tourism

SATUN, 14 January 2013  The Satun provincial municipality has launched a tourism development project, collaborating with the locals to support sustainable tourism. 

Satun Governor Nuachai jira-apisit has assigned the Satun Community Development Office to work with other government agencies in drafting tourism development project, using 10 million baht of budget. Under the initial plan, the province is expected to improve 12 communities, each with its own distinct qualities.

Tourist attractions and home stay will be developed to reach the standard desirable in order to welcome local and foreign travelers and to prepare for the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

Satun is a quiet southern province known primarily by travelers for its spectacular islands, particularly Koh Lipe and Koh Tarutao.
