A couple of years ago a young Thai entrepreneur by the name of Pasit Foobunma launched a concept to help people discover some of the many hidden gems of Thailand. His idea was to create custom made tours to a variety of different provinces that would cater to the requirements, budget and schedule of those wanting to find out more about this amazing country. The tours are called Seeing Thailand through Thai eyes and have proved to be very successful.

A university graduate, Pasit has a passion for travel and a keen eye for attention to detail. He insists on knowing personally the different resorts, guesthouses and destinations in locations such as Lopburi, Chanthaburi, Loei, and Nakhon Ratchasima, so he is fully informed and able to transfer that knowledge to his guests.

He has worked with many individuals as well as local organizations such as the Pattaya City Expats Club, the Pattaya Expats Club, and Pattaya International Ladies Club.

These tours can be for a couple of days or longer. For instance, Chanthaburi is a few hours from Pattaya and is a charming city with one of the largest Catholic churches in Thailand called the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

North of Bangkok, Lopburi is another popular destination, perhaps most famous for its 3000+ crab eating macaques, which is why Lopburi is known as monkey city. The city is enshrined in history and dates back to the Dvaravati period more than 1,000 years ago.

Through this work and in his role as the vice chairman of the South African Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) Pasit is now embracing a new challenge, still in tourism but this time in the guise of Safaris in the magnificent country of South Africa. Details in a future article.
