Skål International launches Krabi club

The newly-launched Skål International Club in Krabi, Thailand has been welcomed by the region’s vice-governor. Narong Wonsiv was the principal guest of honour at a reception and dinner to celebrate the launch of Thailand’s seventh Skål club.

Vice-Governor Wonsiv said he was confident that the formation of the new Skål club in Krabi would give a major boost to the region’s tourism.

Skål International Thailand President Dale Lawrence shared messages of congratulation from Salih Cene (President of Skål International worldwide) and the organisation’s Asia Area President Marco Battistotti. He added that it was a historic occasion for Skål in Thailand and he paid tribute to the ‘fantastic efforts of the local organising committee and Thailand’s International Councillor Brinley Waddell’. He reminded members and guests that the Skål flag had been flying proudly in Thailand since the launch of Skål International Bangkok in 1956.

Dale Lawrence then presented the club’s membership certificate to George Kenton, elected as Skål Krabi’s first president. The Skål Krabi Executive Committee also comprises Ivan Berthelot (VP); Mikko Kataja (VP); Jana Kenton (Secretary); Prapakorn Kaewprom (Treasurer) and Ingeborg Kristensen (Membership Development & Public Relations).
