Star Alliance offers Gold Status to its most loyal Tam Airlines Customers

TAM Airlines’ Red and Black Frequent Flyer Card holders are being offered a special promotion which will allow them to maintain their Star Alliance Gold status following the airline’s exit from Star Alliance. In order to participate, customers simply select one of the following nine Frequent Flyer Programmes (FFPs):

Aeroplan® (Air Canada)

Airpoints™ (Air New Zealand)

EuroBonus® (Scandinavian Airlines)

MileagePlus® (United, Copa Airlines)

Miles & Smiles® (Turkish Airlines)

PhoenixMiles® (Air China)

SA Voyager® (South African Airways)

ShebaMiles® (Ethiopian Airlines)

Victoria® (TAP Portugal)

Registration links to these FFPs can be found at www.staralliance.com/en/benefits/earn-and-redeem/ . Once customers have received their new FFP number, they can request retention of their Star Alliance Gold status by logging on to the following website StarAllianceGold.staralliance.com and submitting electronic proof of a valid TAM Frequent Flyer Red or Black Card.

As soon as the status match has been validated, the participating Star Alliance FFP will then send the customer a new card bearing the Star Alliance Gold status logo.

Customers who in addition to holding a TAM Red or Black Card already have a frequent flyer account with any of the nine participating Star Alliance member carrier FFPs, can go directly to StarAllianceGold.staralliance.com and request the status match.

Making use of their Star Alliance Gold status, customers will be offered the following enhanced benefits during their travels

Priority Airport Check-in: Star Alliance Gold members can make use of dedicated check-in desks.

Priority Reservations Waitlist: Star Alliance Gold members receive priority waitlisting if the desired flight is already fully booked.

Priority Boarding: Star Alliance Gold members can enjoy the freedom of boarding at their own convenience along with First and Business Class passengers.

Priority Airport Standby: Star Alliance Gold members receive priority standby listing if they arrive at the airport without any reservation for a specific flight (subject to local regulations).

Airport Lounge Access: Star Alliance Gold members have access to more than 1,000 lounges at airports around the world for themselves and one guest.

Priority Baggage Handling: Star Alliance Gold members are entitled to priority baggage service across the network.

Extra Baggage Allowance: Star Alliance Gold customers are entitled to one additional piece of checked baggage (piece concept) or an additional 20 kilos (weight concept).
