Los Angeles, 8 January, 2015 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Los Angeles Office held “A Night to Discover Thainess” evening party at the Beverly Hills Country Club as a way of expressing its gratitude for the collaborations and contributions from travel partners and media in the market.
Styled as a food tasting event, the party was themed as a Thai carnival and was covered with vibrant coloured umbrellas, flags and twinkling lights, with games and fun fair treats. Five acclaimed restaurants from Southern California and one dessert house – Jitlada, Ruen Pair, Ayara Thai Cuisine, Lum Ka Naad and Thai Society – were brought in to showcase the delectable elements of Thai cuisine.
Mrs. Kulpramote Wannalert, Director of TAT Los Angeles Office said, “Apart from the chance to convey our heartfelt appreciation to our travel industry partners and media friends, the night also offered an opportunity to present our “2015 Discover Thainess” campaign that sets to promote Thailand’s long history of traditions and cultures, which make our nation and people very unique.”
Under the “2015 Discover Thainess” campaign, TAT is encouraging tourists to experience the distinct entity and characteristic of the Thai people and the nation’s cultural assets or “Thainess” which can be characterised in seven unique aspects – Thai Food, Thai Arts, the Thai Way of Life, Thai Wellness, Thai Festivity, Thai Wisdom, and Thai Fun. All of these aspects can be found in the everyday life of the Thai people. TAT’s new global tourism market campaign derived from the Thai Government’s declaration of 2015 as the “Discover Thainess” year with the objective of accelerating the national economic and social development under His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Sufficiency Economy principle to achieve a more sustainable form of growth.
Mrs. Kulpramote said, “TAT Los Angeles Office also seized an opportunity to update our travel industry partners and media friends of new programs with the objective of providing the market with the most current marketing opportunities and commercial platforms.
TAT Los Angeles’ bookthailandnow.com online booking platform is currently being upgraded, and is scheduled to re-launch in January 2015. The newly-upgraded website will feature a variety of packages and deals, and an online booking and payment system.
In addition, the Office recently launched two websites. The TravelforTravelAgents.com is to provide webinar sessions, e-material (brochures/video/pictures) and Thailand’s tourism information while the ThaiTheKnotSpecialist.com is for agents specializing in the wedding and honeymoon markets.
At “A Night to Discover Thaness”, TAT’s travel partners – Thai Airways International (THAI), Ritz Tours, Travel 2, Trails of Indochina, Sita Tours and V’Explore – joined the evening’s fun by providing an array of gifts and lucky draws. Ms. Lindsay Taub was the event’s Grand Prize winner, receiving a roundtrip tickets to Thailand from THAI plus a sponsored four-day/three-night tour package from Ritz Tours and a wellness experience at Oasis Spa.
