BANGKOK, 31 March 2012 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has planned to spend a budget of THB17 mil to organize Songkran activities in 13 provinces throughout the country.
The TAT’s Songkran campaign will be launched in Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Chon Buri, Samut Prakan, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Nong Khai, Songkhla, Phuket and Nakhon Si Thammarat between April 10 and 29. Cultural uniqueness of these provinces will be the theme of the activities.
The events are expected to attract 1.4 million Thai and foreign visitors and to generate incomes of THB4.5 bil.
The TAT has also joined hands with the Thai Tourism Promotion Association (TTPA), Thai Eco-tourism and Adventure Travel Association (TEATA), Thai Tour Operators Association and Domestic Travel Association to offer special trips to such provinces as Sukhothai, Kanchanaburi, Loei, Trat and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
