Bangkok, 18 September, 2014 – The ‘Forward Happiness Trip’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has won the award “Silver Adman” in the category of the Activation and Event Marketing: “Best Corporate/CSR Event (non-product/non-commercial based)” at the recent Adman Awards and Symposium 2014 organised by the Advertising Association of Thailand (AAT).
Mr. Wiboon Nimitrwanich, Executive Director of the Advertising and Public Relations Department of TAT said, “We are very pleased that our Forward Happiness Trip has been recognised by such prestigious awards. This CSR project was launched under the main “Falling in Love with Thailand” domestic tourism campaign with the key objective of providing opportunities for underprivileged children to experience a variety of tourism products and services in the kingdom.”
On 17 September, 2014, Mr. Wiboon Nimitrwanich (suit), Executive Director of the Advertising and Public Relations Department of TAT received the award “Silver Adman” that took place on the 22nd Floor, Bangkok Convention Centre, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Bangkok.
TAT in collaboration with the Leo Burnett Group Thailand organised the Forward Happiness Trip project on the http://1081009.tourismthailand.org/ website, which boasts more than 20,000 travel blogs from members, many of whom are experienced Thai travellers.
Since 2009 until now, the website had more than 7 million viewers and the project encouraged members of the website to share pictures of their trips to collect as many “happiness points” and to vote under the ‘charity” tab for the most favourite trip that they would like to offer as a memorable travel experience for underprivileged children.
The Bangkok-Chon Buri-Rayong tour route received the most happiness points, and TAT organised a trip for 20 underprivileged children and four teachers from the Don Mueang Emergency Home of the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali during 14-15 June, 2014. The trip took the children to enjoy the many attractions, particularly zoos and natural sites in Chon Buri and Rayong.
Mr. Wiboon added, “As the project’s namesakes, we successfully forwarded happiness through organising a trip for these 20 children, our future. We hope that by organising this trip and by winning this prestigious award, we set a perfect example for the community that everybody is equal and each has the right to enjoy the happiness of travelling in Thailand.”
