Thai Airways International (THAI), Thailand’s national flag carrier, will launch more routes to attract 25 million more travelers as part of its collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

THAI President Sorajak Kasemsuvan said the airline has held discussions with TAT, and this year’s target is to attract 25 million travelers to the country.

More flights to such destinations as Japan’s Sapporo will be added, from five to seven flights/week during Thailand’s cool season.

More routes from and to India and Russia also will be operated, for a high percentage of tourists from both countries visit Thailand, as well as routes from and to China and Myanmar.

THAI will soon open Bangkok-Mandalay-Bangkok flights, believing such a route will attract about an 80 percent of passenger load per flight on average.
