BANGKOK, 17 August 2014- Thailand is ranked 10 in the list of world’s top destinations according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The UNWTO has announced its 2014 tourism report, stating that there were 10 countries with the most tourism receipts in 2013, including France, U.S., Spain, China, Italy, Turkey, Germany, U.K., Russia and Thailand, which made it into the list for the first time. The report found that 26.5 million tourists traveled to Thailand last year, increasing from 22.4 million in 2012.
Thailand was also ranked 7th in the “10 countries with the highest income from tourism” list with 42.1 billion USD in 2013, increasing from 33.8 billion USD in 2012.
The report also indicated that the 10 world’s top destinations earned the most from tourism, regardless of their difference in terms of the nature of tourist sites.
