The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, August 16. Everyone is warmly welcome. Dr. Lachaya Orapiriyakul, M.D., a Specialist in Ophthalmology & Glaucoma from Phyathai Sriracha Hospital will speak about Glaucoma. There will also be a nurse on duty providing free blood pressure checks for members and guests. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The annual Jesters Care 4 Kids Children’s Fair will take place from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 6 at the grounds of the Regents International School Pattaya. Expect to see lots of stalls offering fabulous goodies as well as all the usual party fun and games for kids, both young and old. Stalls at the Fair are still available for rental if you have something to sell and wish to take part in this great charity fundraiser. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
