TFI’s first charity event will be an 80’s music night held at the Access Inn on Pattaya third road on Saturday 31st August from 7:30 p.m. This will be a night of fun and a chance to rewind to the sounds of the Eighties. Free flow drinks (while) stocks last will include San Miguel Light and Heineken bottled beers, a selection of cider, red & white wine, plus soft drinks and all included in the entry fee of only 400 baht. DJ Brooksy from Pattaya 105fm will be playing classic tunes from the 80’s. The party starts at 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and all of the door money will go to charity.
The annual Jesters Care 4 Kids Children’s Fair will take place from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 8 at the grounds of the Regents School. Expect to see lots of stalls offering some fabulous goodies as well as all the usual party fun and games for kids, both young and old, and new for this year, a fabulous mobile forest park. The Hilton Pattaya will celebrate Oktoberfest on Sept. 27-28 for two nights of authentic beer, sausages and music. A charity motorcycle ride will take place on Sunday, September 29 starting at 2 p.m. from Ducati Pattaya on Pattaya Third Road and ending at the Camillian Social Center in Rayong. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness amongst the motorcycling community of HIV/AIDS and most importantly to bring smiles to the faces of children who have been battling this disease all their lives. Once at the Center, volunteers will be asked to provide a short ride on their motorcycle for a few children, up the side soi at the Center (Soi Kiri) no more than a few hundred meters each way. Also a chocolate bar or ice-cream (ice-cream available on site) raises a smile as well. Naturally as this Center runs entirely on donations from benevolent supporters anything else you can contribute will be very welcome. The 3rd Perfume Shop Football Tournament will take place at Planet Football on Sunday 29th September. Three age groups, nine and under, 10-11 and 12-13 are invited to register and compete for the prestigious winner’s trophy. The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Sept. 1. Everyone is warmly welcome. He will talk about the life of Yamada Nagamasa, the “Samurai of Siam,” who fled Japan in the late 16th century and became a ruler in Siam. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. Estes Post 9876 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America is a social group in Pattaya that helps American Veterans and their dependants with benefit assistance related to the Veterans Administration, Social Security and service related agencies.
