The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19. Dr. Prayuth Diloksampant from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya will speak about “Losing Weight – the Surgical Way!” The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron Thal will play a one-off gig on Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Blue Lagoon on Pattaya 3rd Road, just across from the new hospital. Supporting Ron will be “Interstellar” a Pink Floyd tribute band from the UK plus surprise guests. Tickets cost 500 baht each, with the venue holding 200 people max. Tables can be booked en-block. First come first served. All proceeds will go to Jesters Care for Kids charity foundation. A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard networking evening will be held at La Costa Beach Restaurant & Bar, Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya on Friday, Feb. 17 from 6.30 p.m. – 9 p.m. (last drinks at 8.30 p.m.). The 7th Pattaya Money Expo will be held at the Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Hotel from February 17-19. During this 3-day event, well-known commercial banks, financial institutions, security firms, gold companies and gold futures traders will be available to provide every type of lending and investment service and advice to members of the public.

The 2017 Pattaya Bike Week, also known as Burapha Bike Week, will take place from Feb. 17-18 at the National Indoor Stadium on Chaiyapruek 2 Road in Pattaya. During the festival, live concerts will take place all day long, there will be many food stalls, fireworks, tattoo displays, dancers, motorcycle parades, stunt shows and more. The Wonderfruit Festival 2017 will take place over 4 days from Feb. 16-19 on the open field area at the entrance to Siam Country Club in Pattaya. As part of the Triathlon Master Series, a charity beach run will be held at Bang Saen Beach in Chonburi on Saturday 18 February starting at 6 a.m. The race distance is 2.5km and entry fee is THB 300. The Honda LPGA Thailand 2017 golf tournament takes place at Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course from 23–26 February. The top 60-female golfers in the world including Thai No. 1 Ariya Jutanugarn, plus 10 invitees, will compete for the prestigious title and total prize money of US$1.6 million. Dr. Ulrich Eder, the managing director of tax and corporate law firm Pugnatorius, will be holding a seminar at the next meeting of the Rotary Club of Phoenix Pattaya. The North Star Library on Sukhumvit Road, north Pattaya holds regular Thai language classes Mon – Fri from 10.30 till 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. Cost of admission is 100 baht per session for library members and 200 baht for non-members.
