The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, February 8. Everyone is warmly welcome. John Ryan, Director of Training at International Truth Verification Technologies, will be returning to give his latest update (and live demo) of the FVSA (Forensic Voice Stress Analyzer). The club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The 5th Money Expo Pattaya event will be held at the PEACH conference center, Royal Cliff Beach Resort, from February 6-8. Visitors will find an array of bank and financial institutions offering financial and investment services and advice covering subjects such as home and car loans, credit education, savings patterns, insurance, savings bonds and stock market investments. Entertainment will also be provided with the appearance of celebrities, mini concerts and prize giveaways. The Expo will be open daily from 10.30-20.00 and admission is free of charge.

The Pattaya Family Bike Day 2015 will take place at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in East Pattaya on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 12 p.m. There will be three races to take part in over distances of 8km, 15km and 30km plus a 2km children’s ride. Children’s activities, refreshments and raffle tickets will be available for purchase throughout the day. The WTA sanctioned PTT Thailand Open tennis tournament will be held at the Dusit Thani Pattaya Resort from 8-15 February with some of the top names in women’s professional tennis vying for the title. The 18th Burapa Bike Festival will take place at the National Sports Stadium on Soi Chaiyapruek 2 in Pattaya from February 13-14. Ripley’s ‘Believe it or Not!’ museum, located on the 2nd floor of the Royal Garden Plaza in Pattaya, will be hosting a World’s Longest Dance Marathon event on February 13-14 with more than 300,000 baht in prizes up for grabs and an attempt to set a new world record. The Red Love in Chinese New Year Festival 2015 will take place from February 14-21 at the Three Kingdoms Theme Park, adjacent to Horseshoe Point in East Pattaya. The Future Sound of Thailand concert takes place on Saturday, February 14, from 18:00-24:00 on the open plot of land adjacent to the Hard Rock Pattaya hotel on Beach Road. The Pattaya Chinese New Year Festival takes place on February 19-20 at the Lan Pho Market in Naklua. The festival will feature many activities including traditional Chinese dance displays with lights and music, costume & mask shows, lion dragon show and a Chinese Girl contest.

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
