The U.S. 7th Fleet’s popular music group, “Orient Express”, an exciting eight-piece group of professional Navy musicians, will be performing 2 free concerts in Pattaya. On Saturday, June 3, from 1pm – 3pm, the band will play at the Child Protection and Development Center in Hua Yai (includes free drinks and snacks), while on Sunday, June 4, the band will perform at the Royal Garden Plaza shopping mall from 3pm – 5pm. The group plays an exciting mix of music ranging from classic rock to modern Top 40 hits by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Adele, The Rolling Stones and Bruno Mars. Everyone welcome to attend either show.

The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, June 4. John Wayne Ryan will be sharing highlights of his adventures and misadventures spanning the last six decades, including a showing of the cult short film “Elvis killed my brother” in which he played Elvis. The program starts at 10:30 am with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 am on the 4th floor of the Holiday Inn’s Executive Tower, located behind the Holiday Inn’s Bay Tower on Beach Road.

A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard networking evening will be held at the Pullman Pattaya Hotel G on Friday, June 16 from 6.30 p.m. – 9 p.m. (last drinks at 8.30 p.m.) Entrance cost of THB 600 for members and guests of participating chambers and THB 800 for non-members includes free-flow drinks and finger food. Pattaya Cricket Club will host its annual Super 82s tournament at Siam Polo Field in East Pattaya on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. The games, featuring 6 teams from around Thailand, will start at 9am on Saturday morning, with finals starting at 1pm on Sunday. Everyone welcome to come along and enjoy the on-field action. Yamato Restaurant located on Soi Yamato has been around for more than 35 years and the soi was named after its oldest tenant. Just look for the Japanese characters on the blinds outside. You cannot miss it. The menu is pictorial, which is a must when trying a different cuisine/language. This is a restaurant to take a few people with you. Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra at Ben’s Theater Jomtien. The Comedy Club Bang­kok brings Scottish stand-up comedian Chris Henry to Pattaya for a show at The Robin Hood Tavern on Saturday, June 10 from 8pm – 10:30pm. The 8th installment of the popular Samet In Love music festival will be held Saturday, June 3 at Sa Kaew Beach on Koh Samet. The event will feature a variety of Thailand’s most popular pop, rock, dance, hip-hop and reggae acts. The event starts at 12 Noon and lasts until midnight. Entrance cost is THB 1500.

The North Star Library on Sukhumvit Road, north Pattaya holds regular Thai language classes Mon – Fri from 10.30 till 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. Cost of admission is 100 baht per session for library members and 200 baht for non-members. Private lessons are also available for 200 baht per hour. In addition, the library also holds Yoga training every Tuesday from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Father Ray Foundation.
