Events

The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, March 13. Everyone is warmly welcome. PCEC member Pat Koester and several other members of the group that recently enjoyed a three-day trip to Kanchanaburi Province will share their experiences and the highlights of the trip. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Thai Polo and Equestrian Club is hosting a charity Family Bike Day on Saturday, March 12. Four different ride distances will cater to different abilities and fitness levels. There will also be food, beverages, prizes and other entertainment for all to enjoy. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, March 17. A colourful Paddy’s Day parade will start moving from the front of the Alcazar cabaret show lounge on Pattaya 2nd Road at 3.00 p.m. before turning down Soi 4 onto Beach Road, then heading towards Walking Street. The parade will finish at the sports field of School No. 8 on South Pattaya Road where there will be entertainment and raffle draws for some great prizes. Everyone welcome.

A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard Networking Evening will be held at the Centra Maris Resort Jomtien in Pattaya on Friday, March 18 from 6. p.m. – 9 p.m. (last drinks served at 8.30 p.m.). The Pattaya International Music Festival will take place from March 18-20 at several stages sited along Pattaya Beach Road. Big name local artists will join 10 international acts from Southeast Asia to headline the annual 3-day event that will provide a variety of live music to suit all tastes, including world, country, and rock music. Food stalls and small product shops will also be positioned along Beach Road for the duration of the festival.

Pattaya Soul Club will be presenting another charity ‘Souled Out’ evening, playing the very best of Northern Soul, Motown & Classic Soul at the Access Inn, Pattaya 3rd Road on Saturday, March 19 from 8 p.m. Entry fee of 400 baht includes a free-flow of wine and San Miguel beer (while stocks last). All proceeds will be donated to the ‘Take Care Kids’ charity foundation.

Aglow International, an interdenominational Christian gathering of women from all cultures and backgrounds, will be holding its first meeting in Pattaya at 12 noon on March 22 at the Sandalay Hotel (Beach Road, Soi 2). The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. You do not need to have served in the Armed Forces to become a member and can join in the many social events arranged throughout the year. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
