The German speaking Catholic parishioners of Pattaya will be holding a Day of the Elemal Prayer in the chapel of the Redemptorist Center on Sukhumvit Road during Annunciation Day, Monday, March 26.  Everyone is welcome to stop by for prayers at anytime during the day from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Events

The Annual Pattaya Charity Cross Bay Swim 2012 will take place on the morning of Sunday, March 25 from 9.30 a.m. onwards.  The event will consist of three races: a 1.1 km Fun Swim from the Hard Rock Hotel; a 1.3 km competitive Short Swim from the Hard Rock Hotel; and the traditional 3.5 km Swim from the Sea Rescue Station Bali Hai to the Dusit Thani Resort.  Every swimmer will receive a commemorative medal while the winners of both the long and short competitive swims will receive trophies.  Registration is a 2,000 baht donation to charity and includes swim + lunch+ medal + T shirt, water and use of fresh towels.  For more information call Brendan on 084 033 6296, Philip on 086 101 7165 or Ronny on 089 936 6740.

In conjunction with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Pattaya City hall the Zoom Pattaya Festival will be taking place at Bali Hai Beach Pattaya on the 30th and 31st of March 2012.  There will be 3 stages, with each stage hosting a distinct music style such as Hip Hop, R&B, House, and Dub Step.  More than 50 Djs will participate in the event, featuring Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, DJ Domination – the world’s best Video DJ winner 2012 – Teddy O, Slick, Eddie Pay and Thailand’s own top DJs Dome Pakorn Lum, Monton Jira, and many other notable personalities.  Tickets will be 200 baht per person.  For more information, visit www.zoom-festival.com.

The date for the 2012 Pattaya International Music Festival has been changed to April 27-29.  The event will take place along Beach Road and at Bali Hai Pier and is regarded as one of the biggest international beach music festivals in Asia.  A number of famous Asian and Thai artists and over 400,000 music fans are expected to attend over the three days.  For more information call the TAT Pattaya Office on 038 427 667.

The Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) next meeting will be on Sunday, March 25.  The Club will be welcoming back well known Bangkok resident and author Christopher G. Moore who will be talking about his latest book “The Wisdom of Beer” with his usual wit and humor.  The club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort).  The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9 to 11 a.m.  Everyone is warmly welcome.
