The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, March 8. Everyone is warmly welcome. “Preparing for the inevitable” will be the topic with presentations by Kelvin Bamfield of Thai888 Law Company, Stuart Liversage, Allison Monkhouse Funeral Directors, and Julian Blewett, Vice Consul of the British Embassy in Bangkok. The club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra is set for its debut performance in Pattaya offering an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy classical music in a beautiful setting. This free outdoor concert will be held at Phornphrapa Botanic Gardens (next to Siam Country Club) on Sunday, March 8 from 16:00 to 18:00. The Pattaya Soul Club will stage a Souled Out party on Saturday, March 14 at the Access in on Pattaya Third Road starting from 8 p.m. with a free-flow of wine and San Miguel beer until 10 p.m. or until stocks run out. The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will be held along Pattaya Beach Road on Tuesday, March 17. The marching bands and floats will gather in front of Alcazar Cabaret Show on Second Road before the parade starts at 2 p.m. and turns down Soi 4 to Beach Road. The parade will make its way towards the grounds of Chaimongkol School on South Pattaya Road. Here the fun will continue with entertainment performed by singers, musicians and dancers.

A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard Networking Evening will be held at the Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya, Pratamnak Soi 5, on Friday, March 20 from 6-9 p.m. (last drinks served at 8.30 p.m.). The Pattaya Music Festival 2015 will be held from March 20-22 along Beach Road and Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. The Music Festival marks one of the city’s major annual events and will feature some of Thailand’s leading bands as well as invited international acts to perform over 3 days and nights of live entertainment.

The North Pattaya Alliance (NPA) is organizing a Rice Cook-Off event on Saturday 7th March. A fun rice-cooking competition will see celebrity ladies and general managers from six participating hotels vie for the top award. The menu for the competition is chicken fried rice or vegetable fried rice, plus a sweet dish that participants must cook as a secret menu. The E-Sarn Festival 2015 will be held at the Pattaya City School No. 8 (across from Wat Chaimongkol temple on Pattaya South Road) from March 27-29. The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) will be holding a Lifestyle Garden Party on Thursday, March 19 at the garden of the British Embassy on Wireless Road in Bangkok. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
