The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Sunday, November 17 at the Holiday Inn Pattaya.  The Bazaar will feature vendors from all over Thailand, many of whom do not sell their wares in mainstream shops, giving buyers a chance to find goods that are not available elsewhere.  Items for sale will include clothes, jewelry, leather goods, home wares, textiles, carpets, wine and food stuffs, etc.  Non-commercial vendors will include Ban Jing Jai Children’s Home, North Star Library with second hand books, and many more.  Entry fee is THB 150 for adults and free for children under 16.  Raffle tickets are available from PILC members.  For full details of the event times, please see the PILC website (www.pilc-pattaya. com/special-events.php).

Bangkok’s annual Ploenchit Fair will be held this year on Sunday, November 24 from 10.00 am – 8.00 pm at the Patana School, 643 Soi La Salle, Sukhumvit 105.  The Fair will offer games, rides and competitions for the kids and adults while the main stage will host a variety of excellent bands and performers throughout the day.  A mind boggling array of food and drink will also be available from some of the best bars and restaurants in Bangkok.  Attendees can do all their Christmas shopping at the Petticoat Lane Bazaar where some 70 vendors will be selling handicrafts, home wares, clothes and accessories, books, jewellery and more.  Proceeds from the Fair will be distributed to many charitable causes throughout Thailand.  For more information, go to website: www. ploenchitfair.org.

This year’s Pattaya International Fireworks Festival will take place on Nov 29-30.  The festival will feature 45-minute shows by teams from Canada, China, Singapore and the United States with four Thai celebrities acting as honorary team captains.  There will also be booths selling locally made products, a carnival-style parade, shows, concerts, magic and juggling acts and 3D painting photography along Beach Road.  The Beach Road will be closed to traffic between 3:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Nov. 10.  Everyone is warmly welcome.  The guest speaker will be Steve Dickens, managing director of Liberty Computers here in Pattaya.  His topic will be “Looking into the future – how advances in technology could affect us all.”  The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort).  The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9 to 11 a.m.
