The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25. Everyone is warmly welcome. The PCEC will be welcoming back Dr. Mettanando, a former Buddhist monk to speak on a topic of interest to Expats. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The famous annual Chonburi buffalo races will be held from Oct. 24-26 on the municipal field in front of the Chonburi Provincial Town Hall.

The Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival & Competition will take place at the Siam Bayshore hotel on Sunday, October 25. Tickets, 400 baht for adults and 200 baht for students (with valid I.D.), are on sale at the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa, 038-428-678. www.thailandguitarsociety.com.

Pattaya Soul Club will be holding a 4th anniversary Souled Out party on Saturday, November 7 at the Access Inn on Pattaya 3rd Road. Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC)’s annual Christmas Bazaar at the Holiday Inn Pattaya runs 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22. A variety of unique products on sale, including jewelry, designer clothing, leather goods, ornaments, gifts, gourmet treats and more. Great prizes in the Grand Raffle. Groups & Associations

The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. You do not need to have served in the Armed Forces to become a member and can join in the many social events arranged throughout the year. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
