The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, November 1. Everyone is warmly welcome. The PCEC usually has a speaker on a topic of interest to expats. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) is hosting an Eastern Seaboard dinner with British Ambassador Mark Kent at the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa on Friday, October 30 starting at 6.30 p.m. Cost: THB 900 net for BCCT members & THB 1,100 net for non-members including buffet dinner, soft drinks, beer & wine. Pattaya Soul Club will be holding a 4th anniversary Souled Out party on Saturday, November 7 at the Access Inn on Pattaya 3rd Road. Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC)’s annual Christmas Bazaar at the Holiday Inn Pattaya runs 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22. A variety of unique products on sale, including jewelry, designer clothing, leather goods, ornaments, gifts, gourmet treats and more. Great prizes in the Grand Raffle. Entrance is 150 baht (free for children under 12).
The annual Pattaya International Fireworks Festival will take place on Friday & Saturday, November 28 & 29. The festival is a display competition between multiple countries and includes parades, live music concerts, traditional and contemporary dance shows and numerous food, drink and souvenir stalls. Each country taking part in the competition will give a short preview of their firework shows on the first day followed by a full 45-minute performance by each nation on the second day.
Groups & Associations
The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. You do not need to have served in the Armed Forces to become a member and can join in the many social events arranged throughout the year. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
