A charity motorcycle ride will take place on Sunday, September 29 starting at 2 p.m. from Ducati Pattaya on Pattaya Third Road and ending at the Camillian Social Center in Rayong. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness amongst the motorcycling community of HIV/AIDS and most importantly to bring smiles to the faces of children who have been battling this disease all their lives. Once at the Center, volunteers will be asked to provide a short ride on their motorcycle for a few children, up the side soi at the Center (Soi Kiri) no more than a few hundred meters each way. Also a chocolate bar or ice-cream (ice-cream available on site) raises a smile as well. Naturally as this Center runs entirely on donations from benevolent supporters anything else you can contribute will be very welcome. The 3rd Perfume Shop Football Tournament will take place at Planet Football on Sunday 29th September. Three age groups, nine and under, 10-11 and 12-13 are invited to register and compete for the prestigious winner’s trophy. The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be holding its annual fundraising Quiz Night on Saturday, October 12 at the Mercure Hotel in Central Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
