Chaimongkol Temple opens new dormitory

Thanks to generous donations from the local
community, monks at Chaimongkol Temple now have a beautiful new
dormitory to live in.

Chaimongkol Temple officially opened its new monks’ dormitory, made
possible by donations of more than 30 million baht.
Advisor to the Deputy Interior Minister Chanyuth Hengtrakul, his wife,
Lions Club of Chonburi-Bangsaen President Wilaiwan, along with Santana
Mekavarakul, president of Mike Group, and husband Surat, head of the
Banglamung Cultural Council, were on hand Dec. 25 as the South Pattaya
temple dedicated the new facility.
The building, which replaces a dilapidated structure, was built over 18
months with funds donated by temple worshippers. It measures 58 meters
long, 9 meters wide and contains four floors that can accommodate more
than 60 monks.

Abbot Pisan Jariyaphiwat led services as guests of honor lit incense
before Dhamma Jedi, head of the 13th committee from Kalyanimit Temple in
Bangkok, led nine monks to chant religions stanzas. Chinawong, chief of
the Honlang committee at Pitchayatkaram Temple in Bangkok, performed the
merit-making ceremony.
Monks blessed guests at the ceremony while Chinawong presented
worshippers statues consisting of Luang Pu Thuat and Provost Buddha
Chaimongkol to those who donated cash to build the dorm.
