The Royal Thai Navy encouraged children of military personnel to use
their spare time in healthy pursuits during its Anti-Drug Sports Day.
Rear Adm. Trasit Phanthusit oversaw the March 1 tournament at the
Sattahip Naval Base. Organized by the National Command Center for Drugs,
the two-day event offered four teams of youths chances to compete in
futsal and “navy sports.”
Trasit said the event was organized help students utilize their free
time productively and to stay away from drugs.
Officials said sports can help kids develop health physiques, strong
minds and good sportsmanship, while also educating them against the
perils of drugs.
