Swedish authorities called police to respond to the
Phophiang Apartments on Naklua Soi 15 July 11. In a second-story room
they found the naked corpse of David Cavallin, 43, lying face up in bed
with a bag tied over his head with a piece of cloth. There were no signs
of any struggle and, next to the body, was the telephone he used to call
the embassy.
Nearby shop owner Nit Jaikhong, 48, said Cavallin had been an outgoing
person who liked barefoot strolls around town.
Police planned to contact the embassy for more information in their
investigation.
