Phra Thep Suttajan, head of the

water-ablution ceremony for Supreme Patriarch Somdej Phra Nyanasamvara (inset),

Supreme Patriarch died of a blood infection Oct. 24 at Chulalongkorn Memorial
Hospital in Bangkok, at age 100.
Welding sparks likely set off South Pattaya fire that destroyed 8 buildings
Welding sparks blown from the roof of a Persian restaurant to a
storeroom filled with flammable liquids are believed responsible for
setting off a Walking Street-area fire that damaged eight buildings and
caused up to 100 million baht damage.
A single firefighter was injured in the Oct. 22 afternoon blaze near Soi
16 and Pratamnak Road. Firefighters needed more than three and a half
hours to gain control of the inferno that began behind the Abu Saeed
Restaurant at Pratamnak Road at Soi 16 near the Marine Plaza Hotel.

Thailand’s exports in September
declined by 7.09 percent while exports for the entire
year should grow by 4 percent, according to the Commerce
Ministry.
Year 5 students at St. Andrews Green Valley have
been inquiring into ‘Endangered Species’ and
focusing on the idea that: ‘as humans, we are
responsible for the preservation of all living
things’. To help gain a better understanding of
this topic and develop their independent
research and communication skills, the Year 5
students completed a 2 night residential at Khao
Kheow Open Zoo. During their stay at the zoo,
students were able to study many endangered
species, ask questions to experts, carry out
their own observations and formulate their own
questions and theories.
