Construction worker Jong Jarapat, part of a crew making improvements at the Sri Mongkhon Bus Tour Company, threatened to end his life, because, he said, his boss was overworking him. Jong, who had been drinking in the hot sun, brandished an iron rod as a weapon to ward off anyone trying to save him. Police, unable to talk him down, were eventually able to distract him enough to pounce on him and abort his attempt to take his own life.
