Helping create closer links between industry & university research institutes
Globaltechnoscan is an online technology marketplace at http://www.globaltechnoscan.com Globaltechnoscan helps bring technology resources available all
over the world to the benefit of the industry. It is estimated that not much more than 10% of the intellectual property created by universities, research institutions and
corporations is effectively utilised. The rest remains as research papers and patents.
Globaltechnoscan is helping these research organisations to better leverage their intellectual property resources by licensing and technology transfer. In
the process, GTS also brings the benefits of this research in both large and small laboratories all over the world to the industry - both in the developed as well as the
developing world, to small as well as large enterprises. An online marketplace of this nature is a relatively democratic marketplace with power both to the small as well as
large enterprise.
In order to further this exchange Globaltechnoscan is offering free listings of technology transfer opportunities to selected universities and major
research institutes - the possibility of free listings of technology transfer opportunities. In the recent past, over 20 major universities and national research institutes
in the USA, UK, Switzerland, Australia, China and India have agreed to list their technology offerings on the Globaltechnoscan website. Unlike some other sites, currently
access to these opportunities is FREE. GTS expects several more such organisations to join the Globaltechnoscan site. Besides these universities Globaltechnoscan has over
1,000 technology requests and offers on its site - from businesses, universities, technology brokers, and research institutes from all over the world.
To assist the entrepreneurs, Globaltechnoscan also has R&D and technology news in virtually every industry, from all over the world. The site also has
areas on patents and intellectual property and links to professional organisations, venture capital firms, and experts to further assist the entrepreneurs.
About Globaltechoscan.com
Globaltechnoscan is one of the first online technology transfer market places on the Internet. It has been online since January 2000. Unlike some other
similar marketplaces the access to Globaltechnoscan is currently totally free. Further, the Globaltechnoscan site has several other resources which are extremely useful to an
entrepreneur, but are difficult to find in other similar sites. These include areas on patents and intellectual property. A weekly round up of R&D news and technology
advances, perhaps the largest free access listing of venture capital firms on the Internet - over 1,000 firms are listed along with details of their investment size,
investment criteria, geographical and industry preferences, etc. Other resources include a large categorised directory of experts, associations, universities and other
related information sources, areas on trade fairs and events, and for the policy makers an area on science and technology policy and innovation management.
