Record number of voters turn out in Chonburi for national election
Chart Thai Party loses Sattahip, claim foul - calling for recount

A record number of voters turned out at the polls in Chonburi Province for the first national parliament election under the new constitution.

Over 7 million voters turned out at the polls nationwide last Saturday for the Kingdom’s first general election under the new constitution. The Thai Rak Thai Party, headed by telecommunications mogul Thaksin Shinawatra, gained the most seats and will control Thailand’s new government.

However, throughout the Kingdom, allegations of fraud and cries of foul are running rampant, and closer to home, Chonburi Province is no exception.
