Mergers and Acquisitions online

Globaltechnoscan has now launched an online mergers and acquisitions market place on its site http://www.globaltechnoscan.com This marketplace contains mergers and acquisition opportunities from high technology companies all over the world. Globaltechnoscan already runs a very successful international technology transfer and licensing market place on the same site. Mergers and Acquisition activity has virtually exploded in the high technology sector and a very large proportion of this activity is cross - border activity. Virtually all this activity is often initiated by large investment banks. During the last year some of the major investment banks concluded deals close to US dollars one trillion, with several deals in excess of US dollars one hundred billion.

While the small and mid-sized companies need to aggressively pursue Mergers & Acquisitions, there is a very substantial gap in identifying such opportunities, particularly in the international market. Further, with most major investment bankers who have international activities focusing on large billion dollar deals, most small and mid-sized companies are able to identify such opportunities only in a restricted geographical environment, or incur costs disproportionately high in relation to the deal sizes. With this new addition on the net, we expect to bridge this information gap and help many more mid-sized companies to pursue their growth ambitions through Mergers and Acquisitions.

Besides Mergers and Acquisition opportunities, the site also contains a directory of related professionals, which is currently being expanded. This directory contains industry specific professionals and consultants, valuation experts as well as legal experts.

A major advantage to this new marketplace is that it already receives large traffic, which is currently growing in excess of 40 percent per month, from high-technology entrepreneurs from all over the world. Already within a few days of its launch, this area on the site has received a fair amount of traffic and interest.

Globaltechnoscan is one of the first online technology transfer market places on the Internet. It has been online since January 2000. Unlike some other similar marketplaces the access to Globaltechnoscan currently is totally free. Further, the Globaltechnoscan site has several other resources which are extremely useful to an entrepreneur, but are difficult to find in other similar sites. These include areas on patents and intellectual property, a weekly round up of R&D news and technology advances, perhaps the largest free access listing of venture capital firms on the internet - over 1,000 firms are listed along with details of their investment size, investment criteria, geographical and industry preferences etc. Other resources include a large categorised directory of experts, associations, universities and other related information sources, areas on trade fairs and events, and for the policy makers an area on science and technology policy and innovation management.Globaltechnoscan has been started by a New Delhi based consulting firm, GTS Consultants P. Ltd. This firm has been a member of BRE (an international business development network of the European Union) and INTIB ( a technology information network of the UNIDO, Vienna) for 9 and 7 years respectively. GTS is well known all over the world in the technology transfer sector. GTS Consultants used to bring out a fortnightly magazine Globaltechnoscan, which has now been phased out in favor of the online version.
