PGF enjoys volleyball competition and barbecue success The Pattaya Gay Festival volleyball competition and barbecue at Tui’s Place, Jomtien on Saturday April 28 was another success, as the PGF’s program to involve the Thai community drew a huge crowd. All the people who saw the volleyball games Saturday afternoon had a great time, as did all the boys that participated in the competition. The cheerleaders from Boyz Boyz Boyz were an event in themselves. A total of 16 teams took part in the games, including entries from Phuket and Bangkok. The winner was Num’s team from the Flamingo Hotel. The evening event went as planned with 154 tickets sold and a total of 105,000 baht raised for the PGF Charities, HEARTT 2000 and Naklua Drug Rehabilitation Centre. The sale of the raffle tickets raised 66,000 baht, with the main prize a Honda Motorcycle donated by Gordon May of the Ambiance Hotel. The Body Club donated the three prizes for the volleyball winners, totalling 10,000 baht. Monthly, two weekly and weekly memberships for the Body Club were also given as prizes in the raffle. The entertainment began at 9.30 p.m. with the fabulous Icon Boys. They followed this with a fashion show, and Jim Lumsden of the Ambiance Group did a brilliant job as Master (Mistress?) of Ceremonies for the evening. Grace, the owner and star of her own cabaret from Hula’s Cafe, Bali, made a surprise guest appearance. She delighted the crowd with her great comedy numbers. The next event for the Pattaya Gay Festival is The Charity Bowling Tournament on Saturday May 12, at PS Bowl above Tops Supermarket. Entry is 1,500 baht per team of three. Entry forms are available at the Ambiance Hotel.
