Hundreds of loyal subjects gather to honor HM the Queen

Grand merit making ceremony held for HM the Queen’s birthday

At 6 a.m. last Saturday, August 9, as most of Pattaya was either sleeping or just going to bed, over 500 people gathered on Pattaya Second Road in front of Mike Shopping Mall to participate in a grand merit making ceremony, complete with 73 monks, to pay their respects to HM the Queen on the occasion of her birthday on August 12.

Times are changing and apparently the government has realized it! Over 30 senior provincial officers attended a 2-day seminar on the plans to restructure government procedures and positions to make local government more efficient.

The German Language Business Club met recently for their lunch meeting at the Benjarong Restaurant of the Royal Wing. Delicious food and first class wines (sponsored by Ambrose wines) raised the spirits of the many guests, which was the soft part.

International Lawn Bowling competition comes to Pattaya

The Bowling Green, the only Lawn Bowls Club in Thailand outside of Bangkok was host to an international competition last weekend. Players from the Hidden Vale Sports Club in the Philippines which included national and ASEAN Games players and the Royal Bangkok Sports Club with members of the Thai National team battled it out on the turf with local teams in a Pattaya Sports Club supported competition totaling 42 people in 14 teams.
