Tragedy averted
in Xmas Eve inferno

Dozens of people were injured, but at the time
of going to press, there were no fatalities reported when fire and smoke swept
through the High Five Hotel on Soi 8 in Central Pattaya.
The blaze started about noon on Xmas Eve when an electric
transformer exploded next to the hotel, sending sparks into the open door of a
storeroom and igniting the contents inside.

All systems go for Pattaya’s Countdown to 2004
Mass party on Walking Street and Bali Hai planned to welcome in the New Year
Plans for Pattaya’s New Year’s celebrations were
officially announced at a press conference on Monday afternoon. According to the
mayor, council chairman and TAT director all systems are go to ring in 2004 with
a huge party.
Mayor Pairat Sutithamrongsawat announced that the Pattaya
Countdown 2004 is aimed at proving why Pattaya is called the fun city, as
numerous activities are planned throughout the night.

The Art Cafe opens special exhibition entitled 'The Lovers'
Pattaya's Art Cafe้ - a virtual forum for art and
culture - on Monday, December 15 opened their latest exhibition. Titled
"The Lovers", it features over 60 pieces of work by Phayao
Butsumran and Bandhit Kotmanee, two young artists from Khon Khaen.

Another year, another party, as the PSC celebrates Christmas
Annual fete so popular tickets sales exceeded space
As twilight sets on 2003 and the festive
season is upon us, the Pattaya Sports Club (PSC) celebrated the end of
another successful year as a gallimaufry of 450 members and guests crammed
in to the traditional stomping grounds of the Town in Town Hotel to
joyously participate in yet another party. In fact, so successful are the
PSC parties that many had to be turned away after ticket sales exceeded
the available space.

The
Woodlands Hotel & Resort led by Orawan Phanthusak, Managing Director
and Stephan Bringer, General Manager recently hosted a lunch, donated stationary
and football gear to the Redemptionist Home for Street Children. The Home
for Street Children project was initiated by Farther Brennan in 1990 to provide
a place of refuge for children living on the streets.
