Interior Ministry’s midnight closing plan postponed again

Not much has been heard lately about the Interior Ministry’s proposed midnight closing for entertainment venues. According to Anucha Mokka, MOI deputy permanent secretary, this is because the plan has once again been postponed.

The deputy secretary reiterated, however, that the plan is postponed, not forgotten, and that Pattaya’s entertainment venues should adhere to current rules and regulations or risk incurring the wrath of law enforcement or, worse yet, the Interior Ministry.

Sawang Boriboon Foundation receives reflective vests

Safety equipment helps protect rescue volunteers

The Sawang Boriboon foundation, a non profit organization, has a volunteer force of over 200, with many attending accident scenes. These volunteers risk life and limb in some cases to serve the community, particularly at night. These hardworking community servants were recently the recipients of over 350 reflective vests to aid them during nighttime duties.

One of Pattaya’s most multi-faceted company’s, the PIC Group, celebrated their 30th anniversary on Wednesday July 21. The company, run by the affable managing director, Dr. Sunya Viravaidya, which operates the Pattaya International Hospital in Soi 5, along with the PIC Kitchen, the Jazz Pit, PIC Super Food and the Sugar Hut Resort, treated staff and guests to champagne and a huge 30 pound birthday cake at its Soi 5 premises.
