Clubs

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will host their April luncheon at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club on Tuesday April 5 from 10.30 a.m. till 2 p.m. The theme for the luncheon will focus on the Songkran festival. The Guest Speaker this Sunday March 27 at the Pattaya City Expats Club will be the world-renowned medium, Jennifer Mackenzie. Her theme will be “Awareness - open your mind to the other side”. She has been on the council of the British Spiritualist’s Association but has now made her home in Spain. She hosts weekly radio and TV programs and tours extensively world-wide. Because of the interest already shown in her talk, Ms. Mackenzie will be the only speaker this week. The meeting is free and open to all and will commence at 10.30, buffet breakfast available from 9.30 a.m. Henry J. Easyriders Pub (2nd Road - opp Tiffany’s) is celebrating its 1st anniversary on Thursday March 31. Lots of food, live music. Come and join the party.

Mondays at Tropical Bert’s (Soi Regent Marina) are Quiz Nights with a prize every week for the winning team plus a rollover prize. The thinking starts at 8.45 p.m. Tuesday is of course now well established as golf day; it starts with free breakfast at 8 a.m. and ends with prizes and food back at the bar. Please sign up in the bar early as they don’t want to turn people away. The weekends are sports days along with great burgers and Friday is good old-fashioned fish and chips, so all in all Tropical Bert’s is a great place to watch Pattaya and the world go by.

Power Jam is back at the Moon River Pub & Restaurant. The band that rocked the Moon River returns with a new singer and a new guitarist. The Horseshoe Point Resort & Country Club, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) proudly present a chamber music charity concert by the Hong Kong Academy String Quartet on March 27, in the Svennas Ballroom, at the Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club at 6 p.m. The String Quartet will perform at the Horseshoe Point Resort and Country Club on Sunday March 27, 2005 at 6pm. Ticket prices are 300 baht for adults and 150 baht for students. All ticket proceeds go to help tsunami victims in the south of Thailand. After the tremendous success of the Viva Las Vegas launch party in February that raised over 200,000 baht, the Pattaya Gay Festival is holding their first Gala Dinner of the 2005 season at Bruno’s Restaurant on Thappraya Road at 8.30 on Wednesday March 30. Bruno was one of the founding sponsors of the Pattaya Gay Festival and it has become a tradition to hold the first and last Gala Charity Dinner in Bruno’s Restaurant. As usual there will be a grand lucky draw at the end of the meal in order to raise money for the life-saving work being undertaken by Dr. Philippe at HEARTT2000 and local charities. The PGF Committee have committed the festival to make a 200,000 baht contribution to this work each month. Tickets are available from the Ambiance Hotel in Pattayaland Soi 3 priced at 1,200 baht with 300 baht from each ticket sale going as a donation to the charities. Everyone welcome to come and enjoy a wonderful meal and help the work of HEARTT2000.
