Jockeying begins for new city council as present term nears its end

Pattaya City Council will complete its term towards the end of March and preparations are being made to elect a new mayor and councilors.
Itthipol Khunplome, at present chief advisor to the mayor, made it clear a year ago that he would be running for the top job, and he has been talking to members of the council he expects to have on his team in the event of being elected.
It is anticipated that four or five of the existing council members will not be on the new council when it is formed.

Regent’s host Croston House for rugby weekend

The weekend of December 8 and 9 saw The Regent’s School host 31 Thai students from Croston House Children’s Home in Lamphun, near to Chiang Mai. It was an action packed weekend involving the school boarders, CAS students and a number of rugby enthusiasts.

Gulf Charter Series launches 2008 sailing in Pattaya

Sailors welcomed the 2008 season with the Gulf Charter Series for more than 50 sailors on keelboats, multihulls, Sportboats and Platus on 12-13 January, with 4 races spread over 2 days. This is part of a 4-month series, where Pattaya locals will see colorful sails and high speed racing each month based out of picturesque Ocean Marina in Jomtien, Thailand’s largest marina.
