With the long drawn out anti-government rallies that the whole country has been enduring for many months, a resident of Bangkok in town for the weekend caused a slight panic amongst the red shirts demonstrating in front of city hall when he fired off his pistol.

Essence - Amari Orchid Pattaya

It is amazing how some restaurants can ‘slip through the net’ and the Essence in the Amari Ocean Tower was one of those, even though it is one of the few restaurants in Pattaya which remains open for 24 hours. By the way, I was assured that the name is pronounced the English way (Essens) and not the more euphonic French (Essongs).

USS Blue Ridge, which is among the most technologically advanced ships in the world, arrived in Pattaya to mark the 177th anniversary of U.S.-Thai relations.
