A 51-year-old Russian man caught in bed with a
14-year-old girl claimed he didn’t realize he’d done anything wrong, as the
girl had agreed to go with him for 500 baht.
Human trafficking division police arrested Rafael Sadykov
at his Rimhad Condominium room Oct. 29. Pretending to be from a
food-delivery service, police pushed past Sadykov as he opened the door,
clad only in a towel, to find the 14-year-old in his bed. She told officers
they’d already had sex once and we’re starting again when officers arrived.
Sadykov, charged with statutory rape of a minor, denied
the charges, saying the girl had agreed to have sex with him a half-dozen
times previously. Each time, he admitted, he’d paid her 500 baht as agreed
and said he did not understand what the problem was.
The Russian will have plenty of time to ponder his
misdeeds as he awaits trial.
