As flowers bloom during the Spring season, students at
Garden International School bloomed along with them as they performed during
the Spring Concert on March 31 at the GIS Hall.
The Music Department, headed by Mr. Paul Shiells, along
with Ms. Michelle Peralta, had done a great job in helping these young,
talented students develop every instrument that they play with; from vocals,
string, wind and percussion instruments.
Amazingly, the hall was embraced with silence as the
audience was brought in awe just listening to Ben Bartlett in year 11 play
his original composition entitled Nocturne in D Flat Major on the piano.
Other performers during the memorable evening were the
flute solo and groups, IGCSE rock band, piano duet, orchestra, Chamber
Choir, IB singers, Senior Band and the Ceilidh Band which wrapped up the
entire show with a Scottish piece called ‘Strip the Willow.’ There was
Scottish dancing led by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gordon along with the year 4
students. It was a lively scene that the audience demanded an encore and
joined in the dancing. Well done!

Turn the
World Around and The Rising of the Moon, performed by the GIS choir.

Performance from some talented IGCSE Music students: “I want to break free”.

The
band had the audience snapping their fingers along to the jazzy “Snap Song.”
