The Pattaya Elderly Club will travel to Sakon Nakhon
July 5-8 for a Buddhist Dharma camp, one of a series of monthly
activities the city wants to organize for its seniors.
Deputy Mayor Verawat Khakhay reviewed field trip
details at a May 6 city hall meeting. Sixteen temples participated,
making merit by donating school supplies to needy children in the
northeast.
Verawat said the Dharma camp is aimed at providing
seniors a peaceful respite from living in hectic Pattaya and will
inspire closer friendships among the elderly. He said the city hopes to
organize such activities on a monthly basis.
Closing the meeting, former Chonburi MP Sonthaya Kunplome introduced
parliamentary candidates from the new Kunplome family-backed Palang Chon
Party, Poranet Ngampichet and Sukumol Kunplome.
