More than 150 Pattaya students learned about good
hygiene and health at a city seminar featuring three speakers from
Banglamung Hospital.
The 155 secondary-school pupils from Pattaya’s 11
public schools, plus Pattaya Arunothai, Aksorn Pattaya and Tantrarak
schools were welcomed by Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome at the city’s Public
Health Department June 21.
The mayor said child development depends on education
and promotion of good mental health, and the foundation for that lies in
the efficiency of schools being centers of good health.
The city, therefore, launched a public-health
volunteer training program to give students knowledge, understanding and
skills related to good health, communicating with doctors and nurses and
keeping their schools clean.
Pattaya will also sponsor an award for the best
school health volunteer, where students can win 2,500 baht for promoting
hygienic conditions at their school.
