Police suspect a French man who collapsed and died at
a central Pattaya restaurant either choked to death on spaghetti or
suffered a heart attack.
Thomas Bernard, 61, was pronounced dead at the
restaurant on Soi Chalermprakiat on Aug. 19. While spaghetti was found
in his throat, officials are not certain choking was the cause of death.
Bernard was dining on Italian food and wine with his
family. They reported during the meal his muscles tensed and he
collapsed, leading officials to also suspect a heart attack.
