More than 300 people braved the rain to attend the October Lighthouse Club
networking event and support the Melissa Cosgrove Children’s Foundation.
Kevin Fisher of CEA Projects exclusively sponsored the Oct. 7 party at the
Thai Garden Resort, putting out a table of CEA goodies including free pens,
hats and beer coolers. Thai Garden staffers were decked out in his branded
t-shirts.
The
big man with the big heart, Kevin Fisher, MD of CEA Projects addresses the
guests as the sole sponsor for the evening.
Fisher has close ties to Tracy Cosgrove, the driving force behind the
foundation, and takes every opportunity to assist her in her various
projects. Recently he took about forty kids from Bangkok for a day of fun at
the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya’s pool.
He said he sees sponsoring Lighthouse Club meetings as another way to
benefit the foundation even as it keeps it at the forefront of the business
community in Pattaya.
In addition to supporting the LHC, CEA sponsors local motorcyclist Ben
Fortt, who was also there with his 1100cc Suzuki and Thomas Raldorf’s Honda
DC touring car.
Because of the afternoon rain, the Thai Garden Resort was faced with
something of a dilemma, as the party was meant to be held around the
open-air pool. However, hotel manager Danilo Becker decided two hours
beforehand to set up tables of food in the resort’s foyer and his team made
sure everyone felt welcome.
As usual, many people were keen to arrive early, with nearly half the group
there within the first quarter-hour. By then the rain had almost stopped, so
networkers started making their way to poolside within an hour.
At 8:30 p.m., guests moved over to the Moon River Pub where they enjoyed a
complimentary drink and the party continued long into the night. More than
100,000 baht was raised for facilitating various projects that at the
Melissa Cosgrove Foundation.
The LHC’s 2011 calendar comes to a close Nov. 4 with an event at the Havana
Bar. You need not be a member to attend. Just show up.
