Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard gears up for Christkindl Fair 2011

Carl Dyson gives a demonstration of the Drip Water Filter Units to RCES members.

The Diana Garden Resort in north Pattaya will be the venue on December 3rd for the Christkindl Fair 201", the sixth in a row to be staged by the Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard Pattaya (RCES).

What promises to be another fantastic event with an overriding charitable theme will kick off at 10 a.m. and provide a full day of family fun until 4 p.m.

Fifteen exhibitors will be showcasing their wares to allow visitors, both big and small, to get into the traditional Christmas mood and begin their early Xmas shopping, including purchasing presents for the family fiesta later in the month.

Santa Claus himself - none other than Jack Levy, Managing Director of MLG Insurance Brokers – will be making an appearance at the fair to welcome the bright eyed and excited kids, and a choir from the Pattaya Orphanage, under the care of Radchada Chomjinda, Director of the Pattaya Orphanage and CPCD and Human Helping Hand, will be in attendance to sing Christmas Carols in two sessions during the course of the day to get everyone in the festive spirit.

Songkrot Palakawong Na Ayuthaya, Deputy Director of Bangkok Airways (right) donates 2 round trip airline tickets from Pattaya to Phuket to go in the tombola.

The traditional PP Steve Ryser’s Champagne Bar will once again become the focus point for major fund raising efforts for the RCES, and at the same time also provide a convenient meeting point for parents and other visitors to get into a “jovial” mood during the daylong fair.

Another great attraction at the fair will be the Christkindl tombola and this year the sponsors of the event have been especially generous and provided some fabulous items to be won.

Prizes this year include 2 airline tickets offered by Bangkok Airlines from U-Tapao to Phuket, with 2 nights/ 3 days at the Serenity Resort and Spa Phuket with breakfast for two persons (sponsored by Urs Aebi); a Suzuki Smash motorbike provided by the Mityon Company Pattaya, complete with two helmets; 2 nights/ 3 days stay at the Amari Watergate Bangkok (from Pierre-Andre Pelletier); and fabulous mini breaks at the Pinnacle Resorts in Pattaya and Koh Tao for two persons.

A voucher for 2 nights stay at the executive floor lounge of the Amari Water Gate in Bangkok is just one of the many fabulous prizes up for grabs.

Hilton Hotel Pattaya (Harald Feuerstein), Casa Pascal Restaurant (Pascal and Kim Schnyder), Bruno’s Restaurant (Fredi Schaub), Swiss Paradise Village Restaurant (Walter Haeusler), The Thai Garden Resort Hotel (Rene Pisters), Antonin’s Restaurant and The Swiss Sabai Restaurant in Eastern Pattaya have all generously provided various lunch and dinner vouchers to be included in the tombola.

There are also many other great prizes to be won from handbags to wines, spirits and just simple gifts, and the cost is just 50 baht for 2 tickets.

The Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard Pattaya has been busy over the last 12 months fulfilling its objectives in helping poor communities and destitute families throughout the Kingdom. Projects include the distribution of 1400 warming blankets kindly donated by Swiss International Airlines with the “Wrap-up a child 2011” program, and, with the generous help of Centara International Hotels & Resorts, the issuance of 4,000 Drip Filter Units to needy families and villages without access to fresh water. These have come in especially handy in light of the recent floods which have caused catastrophic hardship in many areas of Central and Northern Thailand and now in the capital.

Everyone visiting the Christkindl Fair 2011 at the Diana Garden Resort can rest assured that all the proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the humanitarian efforts of the RCES, and what better time than Christmas to provide a helping hand to those in need.
