Twenty-nine government agencies, public utilities and
private groups have pledged to work together to improve the security,
living conditions and service to area residents as a united “Pattaya
Team.”
Team members from Pattaya City Hall, Bangkok Hospital
Pattaya, the Provincial Waterworks Authority, CAT Telecom, Tourist
Police, Redemptorist School, Office of Narcotics Control Board and other
private clubs and councils announced their joint commitment to the
public Feb. 29 by marching down Beach Road from Central Festival Pattaya
Beach to Bali Hai Pier.
“The creation of the Pattaya Team is for the
government and private agencies to cooperate in helping citizens and
tourists who are facing difficulties,” said Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome.
“These agencies will be relied upon to service and care for the security
of lives and assets of citizens and tourists, reduce drug problems,
reduce public hazards, and care for the health of citizens in Pattaya
and nearby districts.”
Plans call for all Pattaya Team services to be
available through the city’s 1337 call center. A recent city hall
workshop prepared team members and call center workers for the new plan.
Bunjerd Wongkarnchanachat, assistant manager of CAT
Customer Service’s Eastern Region, said the telecom provider was pleased
to join the Pattaya Team, as it matches a corporate goal to address
problems it was aware its customers had.
Araya Ngamwongwan, a Provincial Waterworks Authority
manager, said the utility “wants to cooperate and help the public sector
in caring and closely servicing residents. Therefore, PWA has joined
hands with Pattaya City Hall in becoming a member of the Pattaya Team to
provide quality water and excellent services.”
