Eight Pattaya disabled students landed jobs when the
Father Ray Foundation joined Advanced Information Services’ call center
employment program.
Father Ray Vice President Rev. Michael Picharn
Jaiseri and AIS CEO Vichian Mekhtrajarn announced the expansion of the
telecom provider’s nationwide program to accept the eight students from
the Redemptorist Vocational School for People with Disabilities March
16.
“I am glad for the eight disabled students who
received this opportunity,” said Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome. “I express my
extreme gratitude to AIS for giving the disabled a job to sustain
themselves and help society seem them as individuals and not a
liability. The program is an inspiration to everyone to continue working
hard.”
Vichian said the AIS call center was launched in 2008
and has 21 from the Thailand Foundation for the Blind, eight from the
Chiang Mai School for the Blind and eight deaf workers from the AIS’s
Bangkok office.
“I believe that disabled individuals have potential
and quality in working as I have been operating this project for the
last five years,” Vichan said. “I would like society to open more
opportunities for these individuals to prove themselves as equals.”
